Charleston Lodge handbook - Buller High School (Westport) outdoor education lodge: A dissertation presented in part fulfilment of the requirements of the Diploma in Parks and Recreation, Lincoln College

Abstract

In writing this dissertation I have attempted to meet the needs of Buller High Schools outdoor education programme and particularly to provide for those groups who will use the lodge but will be unfamiliar with the area. To achieve this I set the following objectives: a) To compile information on the natural and cultural history of the Charleston region used by Buller High School for its existing and proposed outdoor education programme. b) That the information should be presented in such a way that is useful to the widest range of lodge users, that is students and teachers. This would be achieved by having a simple but accurate text and providing reference lists at the end of each chapter, for follow up use by senior students and teachers.
