Abstract
Aim: To develop a proposal for a 36 person conference centre on Godley Head Christchurch. Landscape Architect's requirements: To supply the client with a proposal for this conference centre to a stage of development where the necessary statutory authorisation can be sought. This will entail a preliminary feasibility study of a conference centre on Godley Head, including a survey and analysis of Godley Head , the landscape character and the implications both physical and cultural of constructing a conference centre in this area. The extent of the proposal shall include: i) The selecting of a suitable site on Godley Head for the proposal. ii) Layout and indicative design of the structures. iii) Circulation patterns - both vehicular and pedestrian. iv) Indication of the major earthworks involved. v) Revegetation programme and indicative planting concept. vi) Detailed indication of materials used and the methods of construction. vii) Sample specifications for both hard and soft landscape work. viii) Indicative management proposals for future site manager.
