Abstract
The purpose of this guide is primarily to raise awareness of the magnolia collection planted at the Lincoln University campus. Lincoln University has the largest collection of magnolias in the South Island of New Zealand. The majority of the magnolias were planted during the winter of 1990, with additional plants being purchased in 1991 and 1992. Most of the species are native to temperate eastern Asia and North America. The following list is quite extensive with about 130 different species, hybrids and cultivars.
