Climate change policies in New Zealand

Abstract

This presentation covers New Zealand's climate change policies, and looks at the proposed amendments beyond 2012. The New Zealand economy, land use, and energy use are outlined in the context of greenhouse gas emmissions, and the Emissions Trading Scheme. The key points discussed are: phased entry into the shceme, carbon sequestration, low effective carbon price, having no biological gases, and the amendments proposed.
