Abstract
The effect of the plant growth regulator, paclobutrazol, applied as a seed treatment, on field bean ( Vicia faba L. ) was investigated in a series of five experiments.
It was concluded that treating seed with paclobutrazol was an effective means of reducing plant growth, using a minimum of chemical material. A more complete field evaluation involving growth of plants to reproductive maturity is necessary to support the results found in this initial study.
