Abstract
Mead was probably the first wine made . The grape wine industry dates from at least 3000 B.C., originating in Northern Iran. Natural yeast flora initiated fermentations of fruit juice , so wine-making as we know it today was inevitable since the fermented juice had a pleasant taste and a relaxing effect. Predynastic Egyptians ( 1500 B.C.) portrayed wine- making in their hieroglyphics. Grcek.s and Romans made their wine an item of trade and spread the culture throughout Europe .
