Pruning of Sauvignon Blanc vines influence of cane diameter on gross profit

Abstract

The influence of cane diameter on yield was examined in two growing seasons. Inflorescence number per shoot along a cane increased as the diameter of the cane increased, resulting in a change in gross profit in the range of approximately +/- 15%. Therefore, yield can be significantly modified as early as pruning.
