Abstract
The purpose of this study is threefold:
1 - to identify the nature of the impact of high-voltage transmission lines on the landscape.
2 - to determine landscape criteria and the stages at which they may be assessed within the route selection process.
3 - to apply the foregoing principles to a route selection study for a proposed 66kv transmission line from Culverden to Kaikoura.
