Abstract
The aim of this investigation was to measure changes in certain soil and vegetation nutrient levels, in an endeavour to provide quantitative evidence as to the effects of European occupation on the soil and vegetation of tall tussock grasslands . Particular emphasis was placed on assessing any changes in certain soil nutrient levels.
For the study, three adjacent areas were used. One area was assumed to represent the pre-European condition of the other two, which had undergone different European land treatments.
