Abstract
Property has slowly become recognised by many corporate executives who have begun to understand and address what impact the costs and benefits of the
Corporate Real Estate resource has on the bottom line of the organisation. Increased pressure from shareholders on corporate executives to improve the bottom line is forcing corporates to review where and how they may reduce costs, add value and improve productivity. The outsourcing of non-core assets has been recognised internationally as one method of achieving these goals. The primary purpose of this report is to determine what are the primary issues influencing the outsourcing of corporate real estate assets management functions in New Zealand. The report also investigates how advanced the outsourcing practises are in New Zealand and what is required by the service providers and corporates to ensure outsourcing evolves in line with overseas best practices.
