Abstract
The concept of AccessMe is a simple one – a digital platform where people can request access to a farm (for hunting, fishing, tramping etc.), and landholders can respond, without having to share personal information, make or answer phone calls or knock on people’s doors. This research project was initiated and funded by the New Zealand Walking Access Commission to investigate common access issues, including concerns that access granters have with allowing recreational users onto their property, how to address these issues, and to assess whether there is interest and support for the use of an online access granting system (AccessMe).
