Abstract
It is the purpose of this thesis to analyse, through an inventory the existing tree framework provided through street plantings. It will be considered whether this existing framework is desirably modifying the aesthetic and physical aspects of Hamilton city environment and the inferences to be made regarding Hamilton as a place to live. Lastly it is hoped to indicate some factors to be taken into consideration when bringing up-to-date any tree-planting policy for Hamilton.
