Abstract
The aim of this seminar is to introduce to the grower, and potential grower, a system of pipfruit production different from those normally used in New Zealand. The intensive apple system is by no means new, as later speakers will show, but for some reason it has been slow to develop in New Zealand and other New World areas. Lincoln University believes, for several reasons which will again be emphasised by our speakers, that it is important the system is discussed in some detail and its advantages and disadvantages are clearly presented.
