Subtropical fruit crops for the Auckland district

Abstract

There is currently much interest in growing some of the newer subtropical fruits such as persimmons and pepinos, and transforming into commercially viable crops some of the previously "home garden" type subtropicals such as feijoas, tamarillos, passionfruit and macadamias. Kiwifruit are already a commercial success story with current research mainly involved in refining the techniques of growing kiwifruit.
