Abstract
This report outlines what mastitis means to the dairy industry. Causes, control, effects and an in depth description of each component associated with each of the factors.
Mastitis is described in such a way that it can be understood by farmers with little previous information about the subject. All information and suggestions are backed by leaders in the science community related to mastitis in dairy cows. Quotes are stated and all advice comes from proven sources.
Methods will be discussed that are available to the dairy farmer to combat and control mastitis. Included is a section dealing with the dairy boards approach to this industry wide problem.
