Ostrich farming : A dissertation submitted in partial fulfilment of the Diploma in Farm Management at Lincoln University

Abstract

Ostrich breeders are starting a new agricultural industry that will compete in the international marketplace for ostrich meat, leather and other byproducts. As with any industry, the ostrich industry will have it's critics. However it is forecasted that ostrich farming will attract interest in New Zealand because of it's profitability, limited input requirements and suitability to New Zealand conditions.
