Abstract
This paper was originally prepared for delivery to the first New Zealand Farm Safety Course held at Lincoln College in June, 1957. At the request of members of the course it has been enlarged and illustrated.
As it is intended primarily for Farm Safety Officers and learner tractor-drivers who will have a farming background but may have little scientific or mathematical training, a minimum of mathematical formulae has been used in the paper. Instead, an attempt has been made to present the somewhat involved concepts of tractor stability in simple language in a form readily understood by the practical man. The treatment of the subject in this paper is, nevertheless, fundamentally sound.
