Automating the streaming of students at Lincoln University: A dissertation submitted in partial fulfilment of the requirement for a Post Graduate Diploma in Commerce at Lincoln University

Abstract

The aim of this project is to create a program that, given all the students and their subjects, will stream the students according to the current timetable. The program will also check for any clashes between the chosen subjects. (i) The program will stream all students faster than by hand (ii) The program will put students into streams so that a minimum number of clashes occur (iii) The program will create streams with as even class sizes as possible
