Abstract
This report presents the results of dryland pastoral research at Lincoln University. It includes a practical guide to on-farm management for direct grazed lucerne stands which implements current recommendations. It also outlines the results from the MaxClover Grazing Experiment at Lincoln which ran from 2002 to 2011 and has a section on alternative annual legumes for dryland pastoral systems in New Zealand which are subjected to periodic water stress.
