Abstract
This oral presentation outlines the methods of surveying freshwater, and records the key ongoing trends from ten years of perceptions of monitoring. It covers the most important values of freshwater and the desired futures for fresh waters. The support for different management approaches are considered, along with the support for paying for commercial use of freshwater. It concludes with key findings and implications.
