Abstract
This thesis looks at the main diseases that affect oat crops in New Zealand. The thesis is divided into four parts; Part 1. Diseases of the germinating seed. Part 2. Diseases of the seedling. Part 3. Diseases of the growing plant. Part 4. Diseases of the head. Within each part 4 aspects are detailed, these being a review of literature, experiemental, field survey, summary and description.
