Abstract
A brief look at the reasons for having roof-gardens and a summary of their use through history. Then a survey showing how roof-gardens are being used here in the New Zealand situation. A look at the role of the Landscape Architect, planning matters and spatial analysis of the roof-garden. Finally a broad categorization of different roof-garden applications and a guide to technical details useful for the design and construction of roof-gardens.
