Abstract
For the purposes of this dissertation, some horse trekkers in the Canterbury area were questioned. People who were the main
contributors of information, were from Pony Clubs, Bridleways and Concessionaries. Individuals not belonging to a club or society, were contacted by 'word of mouth'. Questioning was done by informal personal interviews. Some literature was cited, but use of it was more for general
knowledge than specific information due to the lack of relevant information. Various statistical dates and surveys were consulted.
