A study of the macroinvertebrate fauna of the Lincoln College dairy farm ditch : A dissertation submitted in partial fulfilment of the requirement for the Degree of Bachelor of Horticultural Science with Honours in the University of Canterbury

Abstract

The aim of this study was to investigate the fauna of a soft-bottom substrate running water system while providing some information useful to the more intensive study of other N.Z. running waters. The investigated ditch had two branches, one of which received sewage effluent and the comparison of the faunas from these two branches enabled the evaluation of some of the "real' effects of the effluent on the fauna.
