Herb farming in California

Abstract

My basic intention was to study the techniques by which established growers of herbs in California maximised production of top-quality high-yielding herbs. Most growers I visited were farming 80ha to 120ha of herbs and had been doing so for 30 years or more. I was looking only at dehydrated herbs, and not herbs for essential oils. I wanted to get more information on inter-row spacings, methods of sowing and propagating, weed control, and harvesting times and methods.
