Abstract

You have spent a considerable amount of time to carry out your scientific work that is dear to your heart. Now it is time to publish it in a good journal to tell the world about your success – how do you go about it? The challenge is to find the right journal to suit your story, to tell the story so well that it attracts the attention of the editor (so it can be send out to review, rather than reject it out of hand), convinces the reviewers (so they give it a passing mark, and the editor follows their advice to accept your manuscript for publication) and ultimately receives a good reception in the scientific community of your peers (who will download it, read it and hopefully cite it in the future), enhancing your reputation.
