Real Estate Act 1976, sections 54 and 54A

Abstract

In September and October 1996, Bruce McCutcheon, AREINZ, undertook an extensive qualitative and quantitative evaluation to determine what the real estate industry,s understanding is of sections 54 and 54A of the Real Estate Act 1976 , and how they administer them. The study also incorporated an assessment of any areas of concern that members of the industry may have in relation to these sections of the Real Estate Act 1976, and how the 'information technology age, may have an impact on that legislation. This report incorporates the views and the intent of the respondents who took part in the market sample. The 'principal officer' participants represented an average industry experience of 17 years.
