Abstract
This paper is about Irrigation and Landscape. Irrigation has become an integral component in the establishment of landscape yet this integration is not fully understood by either Landscape Architects or Irrigation Designers. The original Dissitation set out to demysify the complex science of irrigation design by simplification and by assembling all the information in one place. Those concerned with reading this document will be familiar with the circumstances leading to the presentation of this paper. As a consequence this final paper appears unbalanced and lacking cohesion but individually the three sections stand complete. The First Section: Irrigation; gives a brief overview of the various types of irrigation used throughout the world. The Second Section: Irrigation Design; discusses briefly components and design of a landscape irrigation system. The Third Section: Landscape Irrigation; discusses water conservation strategies for the urban arid landscape and raises the issue of appropriate landscape design.
