Abstract
The aim of this project, was to improve the methods of propagating the species by seed.
There were three main objectives
1) To study the effects of light and dark on the germination of selected cyclamen species seed.
2) To assess the effects on germination of selected cyclamen species seed, by comparing dry seed with seed pre-soaked in water for 24 hours.
3) To determine the effects of temperature on 13 species of cyclamen seed, by comparing germination a) in a green-house where the thermostat was set at 10⁰C and
b) in an outside shade house where the minimum temperature was not controlled.
