Abstract
The aim of this study was to investigate a number of lamb selling strategies that may be adopted by farmers on irrigated Mid-Canterbury farms. The affect they will have on profitability, under a number of different seasonal states was the focal issue. The scenario which attained the highest level of expected return, over a number of the seasonal states was identified and examined. Together with the effect of selling strategy, the effects of lamb price schedule and pasture growth for a season, were also examined. The profitability of each set of seasonal states was assessed through the resulting cashflows.
