Abstract
The purpose of this dissertation is the study of a swamp community in the Tutaki Valley, with particular emphasis on bogpine, (Dacrydium bidwillii). The area, situated at Oxnam's Plain, is approximately 25 ha and consists of remnant bogpine and associated swamp plants. It is an excellent example of unmodified lowland pine, now largely eradicated from the valleys in the Nelson Land District by land improvement.
