Abstract
Ruminant mammary gland metabolism has been extensively studied both in the goat and the cow. Little similar data is available for the lactating ewe. Thus, it was thought worthwhile to investigate the manunary gland metabolism of acetate, glucose and lipids in the ewe and compare the results with the other two species.
