Abstract
River mouth environments form a link between the management of coasts and catchments. Birdlife is diverse at river mouths and coastal water bodies and Te Waihora / Lake Ellesmere is the single most species-diverse habitat for birds in New Zealand. This seminar brought together scientists who are conducting research in relation to river mouths and managers of the Canterbury coastline and catchments.
