Abstract
An additive competition experiment in randomized block factorial design with 6 wild oats infestation Level (0, 25, 50, 75, 100 and 150 plants m⁻²) and 3 barley population Levels (0, 150 and 300 plants m⁻²) was carried out in spring season of 1986 on barley cultivar triumph at high soil fertility and adequate moisture conditions in Canterbury, New Zealand. The aim of the experiment was to assess the effect of barley population on nature of interference between barley and wild oats.
