Landscape architecture can be an integrated design approach concerned with the total relationships that exist between art, science, technology, democracy, society and nature. We may use technology to apply the findings of science, and design to apply the experience of art to our technology and society through the political structure. This dissertation is made up of two sections. Part One is essentially a collection of divergent thoughts concentrating on clarification and exploration of personal unknowns as each arises; leading to the selection of a set of values and a cognitive map of myself and the world. Part Two is predominantly a convergent process focussing on the knowns and values from Part One. The whole being a collection of "truths" as I see them now, they are by no means absolute in time or in space.en
