Climatology of urban environments: Heat islands, climate change, air pollution: physical, chemical and biological indicators

    Cherry Neil, J.
    Abstract
This paper looks at the climatology of urban environments and some of the variables that contribute to urban microclimates. In Christchurch there are three primary forms of air pollution, these being from domestic fires, motor vehicles and electromagnetic radiation (EMR). Physical, chemical and biological indicators demonstrating climate change are presented, using both local and overseas research.
