    Cruise tourism in Akaroa: visitor experiences, business stakeholder perceptions, and community attitudes

    Abstract
    This presentation reports on the findings of two connected research projects which examine the impact of cruise tourism in Akaroa, New Zealand. It is presented in two parts. The first part looks at data relating to cruise visitor experiences and expenditure in Akaroa (as well as business stakeholder perspectives). The second part looks at the attitudes of Akaroa residents and community members towards the sudden and rapid growth of cruise ship arrivals in Akaroa.
