dc.description.abstractThe River Values Assessment System methodology was used to determine the relative importance of different rivers and sections of rivers to jetboating in Canterbury. Primary attributes of jetboating and associated indicators was used as the basis for applying the RiVAS methodology. In total 40 sections or whole river systems were assessed. Ten were considered of national significance for jetboating with the highest ranked being the Poulter to Woodstock section of the Waimakariri and the Wilberforce to Gorge Bridge section of the Rakaia.en
