Succession on New Zealand farms
Abstract
There is a strong belief that few farmers think well ahead on matters of farm asset succession. Nor do they take action, despite most professionals recommending that plans should be developed early in the life of a farm after proper consultation with the likely stakeholders and professionals. This article reports on farmers’ current thinking about
succession and progress in implementing succession plans.
