Abstract
Aerial photographs are relatively cheap, easy to use and are readily available. Used intelligently they save time, they are accurate and can be used in almost all types of land use survey and land classification. They are the most useful tool in land use survey work which modern technology has given us. The purpose of this handbook is to assist students in gaining sufficient knowledge to use aerial photographs in the field. With a minimum of experience on the job they should be able to speed up their work and reduce the costs and labour of producing survey reports, programmes of development and designs for water control and conservation works.
