Energy considerations in agriculture

Abstract

In this paper I want to examine the issue of energy use in agriculture in New Zeal and, and pose the question of how we should be developing our agriculture systems for the future, in view of the certainty of further.rises in the price of energy. I rely largely upon work carried out at the Joint Centre for Environmental Sciences at Lincoln College, where a study is currently being undertaken on the energy costs of agriculture in New Zealand. This project is being funded by a grant from the New Zealand Energy Research and Development Committee.
