Abstract
The fertiliser requirements and leaf nutrient analysis levels for purple passionfruit (Passijlora edulis f. edulis) have been little studied under New Zealand conditions. The New Zealand Passionfruit Growers Association commissioned the preparation of this document through Mr Mike Morley-Bunker (senior lecturer in pomology at Lincoln University) and an Horticultural Science honours student, Don Pearson, summarising the state of knowledge on passionfruit nutrition as it currently stands. The primary objectives of this project were to:
• review the literature for information on passionfruit fertiliser requirements
• review the literature for information on leaf analysis standards and
• prepare a resource document that would be useful to passionfruit growers
• comment on the appropriateness of current fertiliser practices
• identify areas of passionfruit nutrition that require further research
A further objective from the author's perspective was the fulfilment of part of the course prescription for a Bachelor of Horticultural Science, at Lincoln University.
