Valuing non-market goods

Abstract

In this report some of the issues associated with the use of non-market valuation techniques in New Zealand are investigated. The objectives of this study are to: • monitor developments in non-market valuation • identify biases and concerns about the application of CV • investigate briefly the acceptability of non-market valuation to tangata whenua • collate and list recent experiences in New Zealand with non-market valuation
