Abstract
Hannah is an academic teaching science courses at Lincoln University, Canterbury, NZ. She is born in S. Korea, arrived New Zealand in her early 20th as an international student with a clear vision- pursuing a higher education. After completing B.Sc, followed by 2-years job as a research assisting/QA role in Christchurch, followed by obtaining a NZ citizenship, Hannah returned to Lincoln University, awarded with a PhD Protein Biochemistry in 2007. During her post-graduate years, then, she discovered her interest in understanding and helping youngers on the learning journey via the NZ Tertiary Education, in particular those with various cultural and social background. With steadily volunteering and participating teaching and mentoring sessions via education providers, her insights towards teaching-learning relationship has been developing, which has become the principle of her day-to-day interaction with multicultural university environments consisted of student cohorts, colleagues and their families.
Theme of the keynote speech by Hannah Lee
Firstly, Hannah will be reflecting her 30-years, journey from an international student to a learning facilitator in Aotearoa. Secondly, Hannah will share her personal vision and effort in creating day-to-day supportive environment towards promoting peoples with multi-cultural and Asian ancestor background.
