Riccarton urban trail

Abstract

This booklet was prepared by Laila Kjellstrom and is a companion to the publication Making Urban Trails: a Teacher's Handbook in which are found details regarding source material and help received during preparation of the booklet.

The purpose of this walk is to make you aware of certain features with historical interest in the Upper Riccarton area, as well as changes that have taken place since the first European settlers arrived in this area. As you walk along the trail, you will become aware of man-made and natural features in this environment through looking, listening, smelling and touching, and at times you will be asked to use your imagination.
