Abstract
The objective of the operation of any business is the advancement of the people on whose behalf it has been prosecuted. In the business of farm management the people concerned are usually resident on their own farms where they live, work and bring up their families. The adviser might well ask himself what constitutes success as far as farm management is concerned for these people. In the opinion of the writer, success is based on achievements in the following major sections:-
( a) Annual income
( b) Progression of assets
(c) Way of life
(cl) Transference of assets to heirs
The problem which is posed is how advisers can assist their clients to adjust systems of management and so allow the greatest measure of achievement in (a), (b), (c) or (d) above.
