A review of innovative techniques for water lifting devices powered by renewable energy for the purpose of irrigation

Abstract

This review cites recent sources of information on the technical, social and economic application of water lifting devices for irrigation. Emphasis is on innovation in devices using renewable energy sources such as human and animal power, wind and solar energy, and water power. Some measures are suggested to promote appropriate innovative techniques in various developing countries in Asia.
