Lincoln University has been involved with this leaders programme since 1979 when it was launched with a grant from the Kellogg Foundation, USA.This report is a response to the proposal of a National Conservation Order on the waters of Lake Wairarapa. The opinions and requirements of the farming community of the region have been researched and are reflected in this manuscript. This report will review some parts of the pertinent legislation and commentaries on these by others to establish the basis of the Conservation order legislation. It will consider the multiple use of the water resources of Lake Wairarapa and its environs and comment on proposals for alternative uses. The substance of objections to this order by the farming community and others will be discussed.enCopyright © The Author.Lake Wairarapanational conservation orderwater resourceswetland conservationwetlandsfarmerA national conservation order on Lake Wairarapa: a farmer's view pointMonographThis Kellogg Rural Leaders Programme report can be viewed only by current staff and students of Lincoln University.ANZSRC::050202 Conservation and BiodiversityANZSRC::050205 Environmental Management
