In this study, the structural system and properties of a case study pre 1970 building is investigated. The building is a single storey structure which consists of a mixed structural system including steel portals, block infill walls, timber framing and concrete beams and columns. Through on site examination, field measurements and review of the historical information, the structural elements and construction material properties of the building are discussed. Additionally, the observed earthquake damages of the building are identified and examined.pp.204-213© NZBERSbuilding structureconstruction materialsearthquake damagespre-1970 buildingEvaluation of structural system and construction material properties of a pre-1970 buildingConference Contribution - published
