The aim of this dissertation on is to construct biological cycles for major and important minor elements, starting at the soil, tracing the nutrients through the plant and animal and finally back to the soil animal droppings. This is attempted by a survey of a portion of the pertinent literature and a little unpublished material, including some of the writer's. It in no way represents a full review of the literature-the topic is too broad.en
